In training
This weekend, at a family party, it came to my attention that a cousin was now wearing a training bra.
This girl is in THIRD GRADE.
I was apalled. Don't you think it's too early for a girl to be wearing a training bra? We're talking straps-and-hooks-in-the-back training bra. This was no sports-type training bra.
As a mother, I just can't fathom a situation in which my daughter, who doesn't appear to be in need of a training bra, would be allowed to wear one in third grade.
Is it just me?

*raising hand* I got one in 3rd grade. The girls popped up pretty early for me.
The most horrifying part? My mom actually wrapped it up and I ended up opening it as a present in front of all my friends at my party. I can still work up a good blush over that one.
my mom gave me a training bra in 6th grade because we were having scoliosis screening at school and we had to take our shirts off for it. Of course she prefaced the receiving of the bra by saying "I've got a gift for you, but you have to watch this video first." The video was the "our bodies, ourselves" type thing. And even better? the day of the screening I forgot to wear said bra so I had to stand there in front of the nurse completely naked from the waist up.
